I used the 'How To Make a Book' book to find a new and original way of folding paper to make a book and with a bit of cutting and folding I came up with this.
I then started using this trail book to start roughing out basic ideas for covers, artwork and small articles etc. so here is a cover idea, I wanted to go for something simple but obviously related to the subject of my work
Here is an idea for an advert for a car racing game, as you read through the book you come to a racing car that is drawn as if it is coming towards you.
as you continue to look you see a shot of the road with the title of the came written along the lines
and finally you see a back shot of the car as if it is zooming off into the distance, this works because of the way the paper is naturally folded up at either edge because of the way the book is made so it creates a very basic version of a three dimensional drawing where it almost seems as if the car has driven straight past you. If I was to include something like this in my final I would have to work on making the main drawings and the text stand out because I cannot simply highlight them in the real thing.
and finally here are a couple of small rough reviews and specs of some made up car parts with some even rougher illustrations but this is the kind of thing I am looking to include in my final.
