Here we have the final amended that I believe is up to my standard of work. This is the front cover which is something I myself drew and coloured using photoshop, I then radially blurred the wheel to give a look of the wheel spinning at high speed, I also used quite a high impact font to go with this statement front cover.
You can see here already that the piece looks much more balanced than it did in previous versions and it just looks overall more interesting because there is more to look at.
The Caddy article at the front looks so much better now that the text is in a proper type face. I tried to find one which tied in well with the title and also looked sort of mechanical as if it has been stamped out of sheet metal.
Much like the Caddy article, the F1 News section also looks much more professional now it has a proper typeface. Here though I tried to choose something a bit more elegant and flowing, like watching a formula one race (providing there are no collisions)
This next piece is one I am very happy with. I took what I had learned from my emulation of James Hancock and developed it further into something which looks a bit more finished. I drew more cars this time and added some loose colouring which I think looks really good with the sketchy style of working.
The Brembo article was one I didn't change at all because I still wanted some variety and some of my own handwriting so that the whole thing wasn't written in typeface. I think this gives a more personal touch to my work by showing evidence of the hands that made it.
Another piece which I am very happy with is my DIY CMYK printing from my experiments, I think the results from this way of working are always interesting and suit my style very well. I moved away from cyan, magenta and yellow to tie in better with my colour scheme and the outcome is very striking, personal favourites of mine are the man welding or the garage sign.
And finally the back cover, I have kept it simple and it basically involves an extension of the front cover, consisting of some more smoke from the 'burnout' and some asphalt and rubber being torn up by the tyre. My own name is included as part of the debris as if it has been flung up in the air which i thought was a nice little touch!
